What Makes A Crop Profitable?
To increase profitability, you want to do your due diligence and make sure your crops are something that:
- Can grow it quickly (from seed to harvest)
- Has high demand
- High yields
- Has multiple uses for it (so you won’t get spread thin on one type of buyer if that industry suffers)
- Can grow it year-round
- Cost of seeds
- Maintenance cost
- Doesn’t take up lots of space (so you can fit more) (crop yield)
Profit will vary greatly depending on if you choose to sell directly to customers (retail price) or to businesses (wholesale price).
