The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board (TIMB) has intensified tobacco mock sales to train merchants and auctioneers on how the new e-marketing system will be used during the 2017 marketing season which begins next week.
The e-marketing system introduced by the TIMB will replace the conventional way of selling tobacco.
When the ZBC News visited the main auction floors in Harare today, TIMB technical teams busy training buyers to fine-tune the new system in readiness for the official opening of the floors.
TIMB Spokesperson, Mr Isheunesu Moyo said the organisation is working around the clock to ensure a smooth marketing season under the new e-marketing system.
The new e-marketing system has been successfully used in India and experts say it will bring transparency on the pricing matrix as highest bidders among merchants will get the best quality.
